New Website Control panel - Fear we are going backwards

Every day user of 10 computers, When I see changes such as changing the Status codes from the very functional Off Line to Unavailable i know that you hired a flake to do the website . Now when I log in the entire page is just in a jumble. I also notice you have added some more not very useful information under the connect that is worthless to the remoter. I am also tired of having to log in every single time I go to use the control panel 100 times or more a day on my mac, Please if your going to make changes make them COUNT make things easier. The search that is now showing up on the page is silly, its taking up valuable space and now I have to scroll more and more, every second counts when trying to connect quickly to solve business issues. Please consider Firing the Web Designer you just hired, as he appears to have no understanding of the user needs or wants.

Make the Login easier and faster

Allow more computer remotes to show up on 1 page

Change the status code back to Off Line because the word Unavailable means that Gotomypc might be responsible for the connect not working , which is what I thought all day today when in fact the computer was off line .

Please CHIME in if anyone else agrees with me on some level.

Enclosed is a picture showing how much space is being taken up with nonsense.

Hi Coal,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback. There are a lot of things that we can do better and your post makes that quite clear. I'd like to comment on some of your individual points and see if they address some of your concerns.

Quick Search Menu - This was designed to help out some of our customers that can have over 100 machines set up and it makes more sense there. I definitely agree that it makes no sense to have this search when there are only 10 machines on an account and we'll look into getting that changed.

Beta Participation - We definitely want users to know about the beta program for early access to bug fixes and features, but you're right that the space up top is critical. I'll check in with the team and see about what we can do with this.

Offline to Unavailable - We have had offline for a long time and changing it is not something to take lightly. It's true that most computers that aren't online in our system really are powered off, but we don't want to assume that's the case for everyone.

The most common complaint with the OFFLINE status to our support team had is that users felt like the status indicated that the computer was turned off when this was not the case. These less common but still prevalent scenarios led to a lot of confusion. Many users would go back to the computer, verify it was powered on, then they return to a remote location and find that they are still unable to connect. From a backend perspective, we can't tell why a computer isn't online in our system. There isn't a way to distinguish the computer being turned off from the computer losing its internet connection or from the GoToMyPC program being closed. I want to acknowledge that no messaging is going to be clear and intuitive for everyone. We chose unavailable instead of offline because it conveys that you can't connect right now without being misleading about the cause. To make this a bit clearer we added the time stamp.

Time stamp - This was mainly designed to help the users troubleshoot why the computers went into the offline/unavailable status. It's an extra piece of info that may become critical to solving issues. The idea is that if someone accidentally turned off your computer while you were away the time it happened may help remind you. If your power or internet went down at a given time, you would have a precise time that you could use to find the cause. This information was previously available in the options page. A lot of people who called into our support team for help figuring out why the computer was offline found that the time since number was helpful.

The Online since field can also help troubleshoot, but I'll readily concede it's not nearly as useful as the Unavailable since time stamp. I'll see what we can do on this.

Issue that came up earlier today
I'm not sure if this affected you, but in case you or anyone else was affected I wanted to let everyone know. Some users had reported that the page was not rendering correctly after we pushed out last night's update. This was due to the browser using our page's old css file to render the information on the new page. We have pushed out a second update to the css file that should force the browser to use the latest file and cause the page to render correctly and so no one should experience this issue now. I have attached the image of what it looked like for affected users below (with the nicknames blacked out) for reference. We are very sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused anyone today.
