When in "Manage PC" Windows name is "Unavailable" for some Host PCs.

When in "Manage PC" Windows name is "Unavailable" for some Host PCs, however, most PC's do have the Windows name listed. Why does this happen? How can it be fixed?

I noticed that the Windows name for the "Alice - 3356" host is now showing. Thank you!

There are 12 other Host PCs, however, that still do not show the Windows name when I'm in the Manager PC view. They are as follows:

Is there anything else that we can try to remove the "Unavailable" Windows name and replace it with the actual Window name in the Manage PC view?

For the most part all of our computers are Windows 7 Enterprise, all use bitlocker, and shouldn't have different antivirus programs. The computers have been sent to various locations in the United States so they are on different networks and some of the hospitals where they are located have very secure networks. Perhaps that might be a reason for the "Unavailable" Windows name?

What are "User Action Controls" and how do you enable them? This might be the problem as well.

Are all these computers on the same network and/or domain? Do they have anything remarkably different from the other computers that do display their names? Different operating systems, local security/antivirus programs, etc? Are User Action Controls enabled on the affected computers, and is it set at the same level of security as the others?

Yes Alice-3356 is listed.

Is there anything else we can do to figure out why the Windows name shows up as "Unavailable?"

Here is a screen capture of one such computer that shows up a "Unavailable." I went onto the computer and checked the computer name. It appears that the OS acknowledges the name.

Hi Linda, is the name of the computer recognized if you check the machine in-person? Here is how you can check the computer name on several operating systems; I would like to verify that the OS itself acknowledges the name.

It may be that those PCs have been removed from the user somehow. I'll run a check on a test account to see what the behavior is currently.

Are you utilizing an account with shared user access enabled, or is this view from the Manager perspective? Could you post a screen shot please?
