uninstall grayed out on windows 10

I am trying to uninstall gotomypc on windows 10. When I go to the control menu/apps and list gotomypc, "modify" and "uninstall" is grayed out so that I cannot click the option to uninstall. I also downloaded uninstall gotomypc and it lists as just this in my download folder, but clicking on causes the application to try to install gotomypc again. Please helpp

Hi,

When searching for Add/Remove Programs in Windows 10 it will often open a new Apps & Features page instead. This page will show GoToMyPC but, it does not give you the option to uninstall the software. What you want to do is:

Push the Windows button on your keyboard
Type Control Panel
Under Programs, select Uninstall a Program
Locate GoToMyPC and select it
Click Change
Confirm you want to remove the application

I cannot get rid of the gotomypc host launcher which continuously requests my login information. I have uninstalled the program but I cannot find any way remove the host launcher. Using the Microsoft troubleshooter link that was provided I did see a Citrix Online program but, after uninstalling that and restarting the same host launcher appears. The icon still appears in the bottom right of my screen but I have definitely gone through the steps to uninstall the program.

Make sure you are looking at the correct screen when you are trying to uninstall GoToMyPC.

What you want to do is:

Push the Windows button on your keyboard
Type Control Panel
Under Programs, select Uninstall a Program
Locate GoToMyPC and select it
Click Change
Confirm you want to remove the application

I'm having this same issue in October of 2018.

Cannot remove GotoMyPC from my computer the unistall option is greyed out.

Using Windows 10 Home version.

Exactly what operating system are you attempting to install GoToMyPC on?

Do you have any security software installed on the Host in question?

Hi, thank you for your response. Yes to both questions. I have also disallowed the computer on the web and then restarted the system. I have also made sure i have quit the application because it starts automatically upon restart. I cannot find where the application starts on start-up. It doesn't seem to be in the start-up menu.

Also, when i restart now it goes into the never never and fi ally asks for my login and passworx to complete the authorisation. I do appreciate your help on this!

Sorry for any confusion there.
Since the problem began, have you attempted to reboot and retest the GoToMyPC removal?
Do you have current administrative rights on that PC to effectively manage or update installed applications?
