file transfer freezes after a few files.

Hi. I use GoToMyPc to transfer files from a host computer to my home computer. It has worked flawlessly for almost 2 years. Starting about 3 weeeks ago, the file transfers freeze at the host comouter after a few files are transferred. The host computer is unresponsive and all I can do is disconnect, re-connect and resume the file transfer. I cannot find anything in the Windows 10 event logs or Reliability Graph that explains the feezing of the computer. I have tried reducing the number of colors and display settings to no effect. I wonder if a Windows 10 update is causing this. Any ideas? Thanks.

@barryr1 we have a new GoToMyPC build releasing by months end, which should address any remaining PCs experiencing file transfer issues due to the Hourglass functionality.

If this version change does not fix the problem, then click on my Community name in order to securely confirm your GoToMyPC login email addres for additional troubleshooting methods.

I've been using GoToMyPC for many years now but for the last few months have been experiencing the connection freezing mainly when syncing files. As I use this feature regularly to back up files from my office to home, it's a major inconvenience. I have to close down the GotomyPC window when it freezes and reconnect which normallly allow me to try again but the file transfer can freeze the connection 4 or 5 times during a relatively short file transfer. I've also experienced being logged out of the host computer about a minute into a session quite regularly recently.

I've checked all my fire wall settings and they allow GotomyPC through on both the host and client computers. Can anyone suggest anything?

i continue to have this problem ... perhaps it's time to look at other software products and request a refund! sooo much lost time killing the app then having to go thru the login process just to transfer some files!

i am running windows 7 on my host computer and windows 10 on remote

i am constantly having to close my session (clicking on the X) because the host session freezes (but the host computer itself does not "freeze")

this happens mostly during file transfers but it has happened afer short period of inactivity

i am very frustrated

I called tech support (Monday) and they uninstalled GoToMyPc and instalied the last version on the host computer. No success. Tranfsers still freeze on the host computer. I called back to tech support this morning (Tuesday) and they have tried all sorts of things but the file transfers keep randomly freezing no matter how many files are in a folder or if the folder is zipped.

Since this appears to be an easy issue to recreate, I think it woud be best if you and @ehasty called our toll-free support and demonstrated the issue to one of our reps while they are connected. I'm not aware of any issues with the File Transfer feature currently, would you be able to gather the GoToMyPC log files from your Host PC and send them to me?

1. Click Start
2. Click Run or start typing in the Start Search bar
3. Type: %temp% and press Enter
4. Right-click on the folder LogMeInLogs
5. Select Send to and click Compressed zip folder
