Brazil Time Zone Conversion Bug

How are you?

I live in Sao Paulo Brazil. I use Gotowebinar in portuguese.

Despite I had setup brazilian time zone which looks fine on the page registration, when users registers get email confirmation the time zone is wrong It shows EDT time which is always one hour early.

How to fix that?

do you have any feedback concerning this problem?

we did two webinars this week and last week. For both, our Brazilian customers received the wrong timing in their calendar (-1 hour). For all other areas, they received the correct timing in the agenda.

I am afraid because it seems that in one year, the problem is not solved?

We have scheduled a webinar with the brazilian time zone (BRT), but the platform thinks that we are currently with summer time (because it's BRST), but we don't have this anymore in Brazil. The reminder comes with one hour before the webinar but when we open the reminder the time set is one hour after the real hour that the webinar is scheduled and this confused many of my clients.

I need to solve this problem because they get confused and don't enter the meeting in the right time.

@Jayne L This is a separate issue affecting one time zone (Brazil).

@MarcoAG We are investigating this currently. Do you see the same when adding the webinar confirmation to calendars?

Hi @AshC , we have set GMT-3 (Brasília) time zone.

Panelists and Attendees emails are with the wrong time!

This year in Brazil, we dont have daylight saving time. Could this be the reason?

@MarcoAG Can you please confirm which time zone you have set the webinar for, and if these are staff (Panelist + Organizer) emails or Attendees?

Hi, i create a webinar yesterday, and the confirmations emails are with the wrong hour! My webinar starts at 9Am and the emails goes with 10Am.

We need a solution!!!

When I click add to my "GOOGLE AGENDA" the hour is wrong.

After my attendees make the registration, they select to save on your calendar then the time apper wrong.
Maybe is the DST but in Brazil there is no more DST.

Sounds like some Windows server not up to date somewhere ? Current Brasilia TZ shows no DST.

The actual issue is: Brazil WILL NOT ADOPT DST next summer. So it wouldn´t have any change to meeting start time. But if you try this sequence you will reproduce the problem:

1) Log In using your own account at "global.gotomeeting.com"

2) Create a Meeting using Timezone "GMT-3 Buenos Aires, Georgetown", schedule the meeting to October 20th, 14:00

3) Edit This meeting changing Timezone to "GMT-3 Brasília". The meeting start time will change to an hour ahead (15:00).

4) Now edit again the meeting, changing the DATE to October 16th. The meeting start time will change back to 14:00.

Again: Brazil will not adopt DST next summer, but G2M timezone "GMT-3 Brasilia" configuration is forcing the DST. That´s the issue.

I'm sorry for any confusion there.

The way GoToWebinar works with timezone seasonal changes is that it shows the relative time in today's format, compared to the upcoming start time -- an hour ahead or behind the current time.

Brazil will not adopt DST in 2020-2021. Some of my company users noticed that meetings scheduled after 18th October informs "2 starts hours" with an one hour gap :

I suposed that it´s an issue regarding DST.

Users have their Timezone configured as "GMT-3 Brasilia Timezone" .

How can I solve this ?

Hi @bizrevolution ,

Have you tested the registration yourself, as an Attendee to confirm the right time zone is being selected on the reg page?
