I am using Gotomypc to connect to a desktop workstation, that now does not have any monitors connected. When I log in using Gotomypc the screen will not refresh and the remote session will not work. When I simply plug in a monitor everything works normally.
You can use a headless display adapter (aka: display emulator). It plugs into the HDMI or Displayport and simulates a monitor being attached. You can set it to whatever resolution you want to match your remote computer.

@cgravesky Without any displays connected the PC doesn't create the desktop view, which is what GoToMyPC is attempting to capture and rebroadcast. If you just attach the cord though, the HD may be tricked into thinking there's a display on the other end.
