How does LogMeIn assign notes to the particular computer?

I am wondering if it goes by IP address, stores some kind of token on the computer itself, or generates some kind of unique ID using computer hardware components as an identifier? Would LogMeIn still recognise that the computer had connected before and display appropriate notes in tech console if the system had Windows reinstalled between the connections?

From what I can see Rescue has a directory in the computer where it stores notes and chat text. So if you reformat I don't thinnk it would remember on the computer, but you can develop a system to assign himan account and save tickets based on the account.
