Logmein Rescue Console randomly disconnects

Hi,

I can start up sessions with no hasles. The problem is that each session will randomly disconnect. The status remains active, but still the "disconnected" screen is displayed.

This is very annoying especially because I often to file transfers and have to restart every time the session disconnects.

I have confirmed that this in not my internet connection as we have 4 users using logmein and there sessions will remain active while mine disconnects, and at other times mine will remain active and their's will disconnect.

I can't find any pattern as to when this is happening, but I lose connection on my sessions 3 to 4 times in a 20 minute time span.

Has anyone else come accross this problem.

I am also experiencing this at the office with Vista Business x86 SP2 & IE8 and also at home with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 & IE8. As mentioned elsewhere it has only started occuring in the last month or so with the upgrades. It is random and on Windows 7 I am also experiencing the technician console being closed in a short period of time and then when I log back in it tells me that another user may be using this license which is not the case.

I have different routers, internet security and OS's at these two locations so it does not seem to be specific to this. It is very annoying when trying to do a quick remote job and having to constantly reconnect.

Since the recent update we have been getting alot of timeouts/disconnects.

We use vista and XP workstations and all are fully up to date.

If you log in from Computer B and forcibly disconnect a open technician console from Computer A, you will see this problem. I have my guys always log out from their computer rather than stay logged in and hit the 'continue' button when they get to a different computer. I have seen this since the upgrade, but if I remember to log out from say my desktop before I login with my laptop it doesn't happen.

This is definitely a recent issue which I can only assume is related to the latest console/calling card update.

I am getting it reported from many techs who are all working from diverse geographical locations and they are all saying the same thing - they are innocently logged in and working on jobs and suddenly they get the 'console closed' message - just as though another technician had disconnected them by logging onto the same seat.

Be glad of a solution.

All machines are running XP Pro for interest.

Turn off power management on the NIC - don't know why but in a client server situation, these newer cards are blipping if power management on. Has nothing to do with activity- just does it and shouldn't.

I am relatively new as a LogMeInRescue user, but I have noticed that I have the same problem with losing sessions. It's not a timeout issue, since it can happen when I am actively using the session. I have not noticed any pattern to it, but it has been happening multiple times per session.

One thing I noticed is that this problem was not happening a month or so ago, but then it seemed to start happening to multiple users in my office. I believe there were upgrades to the LogMeIn Site and/or tools around the same time. Has anyone been having similar problems since the upgrades? I'm not aware of anything that has changed on our machines here or within our network.

Hey,

This could be a function of your router, do you have a linksys router or something cheaper?

You'll notice with cheaper routers they randomly disconnect UDP as a timeout feature even when stuff is still being sent, information which logmein and voip uses.

I had that problem once, but it was a computer without all it's windows update and it was very slow to start with.
