Weary of GoToMyPC on my personal desktop.

Is there any reason I should be concerned about logging into my work computer on my personal computer from home? My employer would likely provide a laptop and 2 monitors if i needed, but I already have a nice monitor and a decent desk setup.

I'm not sure why, I'm just weary about connecting to my home PC to my work. I'm almost positive they couldn't access personal data on my PC but it's int he back of my head. Thoughts? Thank you for your help!

Hi @HelenWelsh,

I understand your concern, but there is no need to worry as the connection is one-way only. In order for someone to access your home PC, you would also need to install the GoToMyPC host software that is on your work PC.

Really my main concern is that somehow they would have access to the data on my home PC somehow through GTMPC. Again, I don't think this is possible but I really don't know even after I Googled and didn't see this being brought up anywhere.

There is no danger in using your personal computer to connect with your work computer remotely. We use the industry standard encryption model, which sends the information end to end: https://support.logmeininc.com/gotomypc/help/what-encryption-does-gotomypc-use
