Our customer would love to see more flexibility in the registration approval process for GoTo Webinar.
Currently, organizers can only choose either automatic approval for everyone OR manual approval for everyone. There’s no way to automatically approve registrants from specific email domains while requiring manual approval for others.
Additionally, domain restrictions can be applied (allow OR block specific domains), but these settings apply universally and cannot be combined with differentiated approval logic.

The settings are mutually exclusive.
Many organizations host webinars for:
- Internal employees
- Trusted partners
- Customers
- External public registrants
A common requirement is:
- ✅ Automatically approve registrants from trusted company domains (e.g.,
@company.com, @partner.com) - ✅ Manually review and approve all other domains (e.g., public email providers or unknown domains)
This ensures:
- Faster access for internal and trusted audiences
- Controlled access for external participants
- Reduced manual workload
- Better security and compliance control
Currently, organizers must either:
- Approve everyone manually (time-consuming), or
- Approve everyone automatically (less secure)
💡 Proposed Solution
Enhance the Registration Approval Settings by adding conditional approval logic.
Under Registration Approval, introduce two options:
Automatic Approval Mode:
1️⃣ Automatic approval for specified domains only
2️⃣ Automatic approval for all registrants (current behavior)
When Option 1 is selected:
- Registrants whose email domain matches a specified allowlist (e.g.,
@company.com) are automatically approved. - All other domains are placed in Pending Manual Approval.
