What is the difference between adding a user versus just adding their phone number as a call forwarding destination on an extension? Is adding them as a user the only way for them to log into the mobile app and manage their hours of availability?
Thanks. Is there a way to allow a user to sign-in to manage their own working hours for an extension without being able to see and manage everyone else's forwarding number on that extension? It seems that the only choices are to give a user full admin-level access to an extension (Edit extension information, Call forwarding numbers, Preferences, Extension office hours, Extension greetings, Call forwarding greetings, Email for receiving voicemails), or no access at all?
Our use case is that we have many volunteers staffing a single extension with call blasting set so that the call goes to the first volunteer to answer. I'd like to let volunteers receive inbound phone calls, dial callers back outbound, send/receive text messages, and manage their own personal availability. I do not want volunteers having admin-level access to the extension or even read-only access to other volunteers' phone numbers.
Hi @acheslow, welcome to the community. That is correct, in order to use the Grasshopper app on their phone the user has to sign in. If you just forward calls to their phone, the admin would set the working hours for their number when adding it as a forwarding number.
