How do I enable the control panel for audience questions on top of the presentation in the new interface?
In the old interface, the control panel was visible!!!!

At the moment there is not an ability to make the toolbar vertical, though it's on the roadmap. We will post when it's available.
Please check out this article on how to include sound during your session. If this still doesn't work please provide more details on what is happening including steps you took along with the device you are using.

I do recommend you check out some of the materials available on the new experience. This post provides an overview of the resources available.

This article address how you can share videos (with sound) during a webinar.

To place questions on the top of the screen you should use flexible layout mode. To access, click Pop out on the bottom right hand side. With flexible layout, the primary toolbar is always available across any application you're using.

You will see Questions as an option in the toolbar, and can then place the window where you want.
