How to change windows user without being disconnected.

I'm testing Logmein Rescue to see if it would be a good remote software for our company. We support only our computers and we keep all our employees with limited accounts. In alot of cases I will need to switch to the Administrator account but everytime I logout, Rescue disconnects. We don't enable fast switching so is there any other way around this?

If you restart the Rescue Applet as a System Service, you should stay connected when you switch user accounts.

That was very silly of me. I made the presumption that you where already restarting it as a service. This of course will help you straight away.

The Welcome screen is disabled as well. No Welcome Screen or Fast Switching. I have been using Run-As as much as possible but there are some things that can only be done in an Admin account.

This only occurs when you use the welcome screen.

Whats the need to switch to Admin account? Can you not "Run As"? This would avoid having to log out and in.

Not an ideal answer, but one that does help. Instead of logging out, reboot. Then when the machine comes back you will be able to log in as admin.

I am presuming the machines aren't on a domain as if they where you wouldn't be using the welcome screen. Try disabling that and see if it helps.
