Can we ever expect to see a rescue release that will allow the Technician console to be used on Mac OS? Like so many others, I'd settle for a hack or work around but taking up space on a solid state drive to run a virtual machine isn't much of a work around.
Hello all! Please see the latest announcement!

Hello out there?? Tech community here, everyone uses a mac these days. Get with the present times, what a joke I have to run a 3rd party app to run rescue on my mac. No I dont have a PC, why because I dont own something I fix other peoples issues with everyday. Im glad I havent paid for rescue yet I would have been so pissed.
A big old BUMP?!!
I was promised that a Mac Tech Console was coming 'Very' Soon when you enticed me to switch to Resuce from GoTo Assist last year. Well guess what, I am turning blue from holding my breath and don't know how much longer I will wait since my renewal is coming up soon. Thx for the procrastination.
Just to repeat what people have been saying on this forum for a while..
I run another small IT company and would like to see native mac support, either app or firefox.
And to fix the high CPU bug.
All I can say is my renewals are coming up and we are looking at alternatives
Like many, I also run a company that provides remote tech support to my customers. We've been using LogMeIn Remote for over 3 years. We use Parallels to deal with various apps that are not available for OS X. Honestly, LMIR is about the only app remaining that we have to use Parallels for.
My entire office is Mac/OS X - has been for years. We have iMac desktops and MacBook Pro laptops for field work. I'd really love to see a OS X version of LMIR. We also have a few iPads in the mix and we also carry iPhones. If an iOS version is available, we'd probably find a use for that too but it is nowhere near as important as OS X support.
Hear Hear! I COULD make MAC my main computer if only LMIR would work on it... I love my new MBP. I'm a Windows guy through and through, but I need to expand my knowledge of other OS's (how about Ubuntu support) and still support my clients.
Having just stumbled over this thread after updating another on the same subject - I too would like to see some movement towards getting a Mac LMIR client. I think I saw someones comment of even trying to turn this into a mac APP rather than a web client would be a nice feature too!
Whilst I'm thinking about it, I would be nice to have a way of also turning off Mac Animations when connected. This is one thing that is WAY laggy.
as a little background, we are a relitivly small support company in the UK (11 technicians) and are starting to notice a boom in macs out there for us to support, so much so that we are moving over to mac workstations / laptops for the support team to get better preped for the OS so having a client there to use would be a massive benifit.
Hopefully this will happen soon!
Wayne.

I own an outsourced IT company and we run PC's as our workstations in the office. I have a Macbook Air as my business laptop, I have access to everything I need in Mac OS except Rescue. To get around it I can LogMeIn Free to my workstation at the office, to access the Rescue console, it just takes extra time and bandwidth and is not as quick as running the application natively on the Mac. I would actually prefer a Mac OS application, rather than a web based solution, available for free in the Mac OS App Store, but I would be happy with the site being Mac OS compatible.
Thanks!
As owner of a service support company I would love to be able to use my Macbook to support customers.
The Apple foot print is getting larger as we are seeing a increase of repair demands.
Lou - thanks for responding.
In our organization I have a few techs and couple hundred users. We're a mix of about 70% PC's and 30% Macs. I see this changing in the near future to nearly 100% apple product. We've dropped blackberries for iphones, all new order machines are macbooks, and we're currently evaluating the deployment of ipads. For me, I use a mac as my primary machine. Right now, I log in to my terminal server (windows server 2008) to run the log me in console and then support my users on all devices. All I'd like to see is a tech console that can be launched from a Mac. Personally, I'd like to see it work from firefox but beggars can't be choosers. I'll take what I can get.
It would also be really nice if we could remotely support ipads. I know we can deploy mail profiles, but it would be nice if we could really remote control them and see what's on the screen from app to app. iOS developers that I've hired have told me not to hold my breath on that one, and that apple is to blame for it... but it would still be nice.
I think that if you guys produce a working technician console on a mac, and advertise it properly on social media - you'll probably see an influx of new business. I know a lot of IT people in my area, and most of them are now using macbooks as their primary machines.
Again, thanks for responding.
I support 250+ users and now have a MacBook at work as it is 100% compliant with our Microsoft network and exchange 2010. I can Remote desktop to all our servers and work on them but I must carry dell laptop to use your product. I do have an iPad and use log me in ignition. It stuns me that you ask why would want to use it. When apple is bigger than (microsft, dell, and HP combinded..) The world has moved to apple. Microsoft stock price is the same price it was 10 years ago...... Please create the product.
Lou O.
We have over 1000+ support specialist in the field who carry a MAC in order to help our customers resolve MAC application issues ( Photoshop, Illustrator, etc).
WE do use the Tech Console on a Windows machine and while WE can remote into a MAC, those 1,000+ specialist CANNOT use Rescue because they cannot run the Tech Console on their MAC.
We do not use iPads since we have several in-house applications developed for Windows.
Give us a Tech Console for MAC and we will increase the number of Rescue users...by a lot!
Regards,
Tom
Hi all,
Thanks for your messages on this board regarding Mac support for Rescue. As this forum is intended to be a user to user community, we try not to involve ourselves in every conversation, so I apologize for not providing expected feedback in a timely manner. We'll try to to do better!
Regarding the Mac issue, this is definitely something that we've been hearing more and more and are thinking about from a product perspective. Would you all mind providing me with a little bit more context for your use of this OS?
-is Mac now the primary OS you use to provide support or is it a "sometimes" or personal device that you'd like to use more?
-How do you get around not having Mac support today?
-Do you have an ipad? Would you use that to provide support?
I will update you as soon as I can about movement on this front.
Best regards,
Director, Product Marketing- Rescue
I think logmeinrescue is a great product, it's been a life saver for me here... but I think they are really dropping the ball by not acknowledging this. Apple products are the way forward as evidenced by their ever increasing market share. It's not a huge pain to run a virtual machine, but I'm running a macbook air and have limited space to work with. I think they are only going to see more and more requests for this. It would be nice to get some sort of a response... I assume they are reading these forums, it's not like there is a huge volume of posts here to read. Kind of rude to ignore your customers, no?
Really? So if I have a customer urgent matter, I then have to boot up a virtual machine, or reboot in Bootcamp just to use LMIR, when products like TeamViewer work great.
Sorry LMIR, if this doesn't happen soon, I may be forced to cancel my services.
Nothing like (almost) being the best product out there, and failing profoundly.
I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!!!!! :womansad:
NO IDEA WHY THEY CANT SUPPORT APPLE WHO HAS 300 BILLION DOLLAR MARKET SHARE....
