When trying to install Logmein on server 2012, I get a .net framework cannot be installed error. How do I fix this problem?
Ran into this same problem with Server 2012. Looks like all .NET 3.5 and older versions of the framework are no longer installed by default. Version 4.5 is running and on its own does not support version 3.5.
I installed version 3.5 and older, from the Server Manager, adding Roles/Features. .NET 3.5 is not a Role, you'll find it under Features, at the top of the list.

Not sure, but I believe this is similar issue sometimes with Windows 8. Which it will not allow download of the 3.5. Here are a couple of links for offline install.

This has been a common problem on server 2012, I myself ran into it.
Try first adding it via the Add/Remove WIndows Component tool.
If that fails, you will need to find a manual download of it.
