Hi everyone,
We are experiencing a consistent issue when connecting to a Mac host running macOS Tahoe (26.x) using the LogMeIn client on macOS.
What happens:
The connection establishes successfully and the Mac login screen is displayed. However, when LogMeIn sends the credentials, macOS rejects them with an "invalid password" error — even though the password is 100% correct.
Our setup:
- Client: macOS running LogMeIn client
- Host: macOS Tahoe (26.x)
What we have already tried:
- Verified the password is correct by logging in locally on the machine
- Checked the keyboard language/layout on the login screen
- Ensured macOS Tahoe is up to date
- Disabled FileVault (which Tahoe enables automatically during upgrade)
- Used a virtual keyboard to enter the password — the error persists
- None of the above resolved the issue
Important clue:
When accessing the machine via screen sharing (macOS built-in), we are able to log in successfully with the same password. This suggests the issue is specific to the way the LogMeIn host agent injects keystrokes at the macOS Tahoe login screen, rather than a problem with the password or the OS itself.
Is this a known compatibility issue between the LogMeIn host agent and macOS Tahoe? Any official workaround would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
