Wanted some feedback and concerns regarding RCS text messaging from users that text on a day to day basis. I can't possibly be the only one experiencing this issue in todays world of texting
We use text messaging quite a bit, but RECENTLY within April 2026, multiple customers mentioned that text messages are NOT going through.
What ended up happening and our hypothesis was that with recent IOS/Android updates, text messaging has been resorting RCS by default, unless it is turned off in settings.
Specifically on IOS/Android devices, text messages show up with an exclamation mark saying its not delivered VIA RCS.
The only solution currently to PUSH it through is if the customer turned off RCS messaging and only SMS/MMS capabilities, OR on the text screen, they have to click the red button and force send by clicking "Send as SMS"
Per support team, the sender's device auto determines whether to send via RCS or SMS. If RCS protocol is becoming relevant in the text messaging world, can GOTO dev team work on making RCS available?
